Hello.
I am Kim, Byung-Suk, CEO of SuperCon Lab Co., Ltd.

After dedicating over 40 years to concrete research and field application at the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology (KICT), which is government-funded research institute. I retired as its president and established SuperCon Lab Co., Ltd. in July 2025.

My research journey began with the dream of "overcoming the limitations of conventional concrete and steel, and developing world-class technology spanning the entire lifecycle of materials, standards, design, and construction." As a result, together with my colleagues, I developed an innovative integrated material and structural technology called 'Super Concrete™ (Ultra-High Performance Concrete, UHPC)'. We applied it to major projects, achieving globally recognized results.

Over the years, we have realized large-scale structures that set world-first records, such as the Chuncheon Bridge, Godeok Bridge, and Healing Stay Cosmos. We have also collaborated with various companies to disseminate our technology and contribute to the development of civil engineering and building industries.

Moving forward, SuperCon Lab aims to actively apply SuperConcrete to various civil engineering and architectural structures—including wind power towers and foundations, modular/OSC buildings, long-span bridges, logistics and energy facilities, and defense applications—with the goal of strengthening national competitiveness and leading the global market. Furthermore, we will establish a 'Super Concrete Alliance' with small businesses that have received technology transfers during our tenure at KICT, as well as interested companies and KICT itself, to pursue continuous R&D and quality innovation.

SuperCon Lab will grow into a 'Global Dream Team' that captures the world's attention, extending far beyond Korea.
